One of the primary roles of the AiA is to provide a comprehensive resource of everything related to self-publishing/being an independent author. Our last initiative, was to launch the Authors Resource Guide.

Our next initiative is to compile a dossier of articles on all aspects of self-publishing from editing, design, marketing, PR, sales, legal and accounting issues etc from experts in their respect fields and from those of you who are now much wiser having gone through the process at least once.

Our plan is to publish the dossier as an e-book (under the AiA banner) for release in 2012. And while it would be impossible to divide the royalties between every participant in the program, it is intended that each individual article will include the author's Bio, links (to your website, books on Amazon.com etc), email and other contact details. We will also include a Contents page, Author Index and Subject Index.

The article you submit for inclusion would be on a non-exclusive basis so you are able to continue using it for other marketing/PR initiatives. We plan to revise the publication two years after the release date at which time you may update your entry or ask for it to be removed.

Obviously the indirect value to you from your entry in the compilation e-book will depend on the readers' perceived value of your article, so desirably, it should offer the prospective reader some insights into what it means to be an independent author ie it's not just about the writing, but everything else that goes with it. Your article could also be a case study.

If you would like to participate in this initiative, please submit an article (1,000 words or thereabouts) by 29 February 2012

We look forward to your participation in what we hope will be an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your knowledge of self-publishing, which, hopefully, will lead indirectly to more followers of you as an author, and of your work.
